FUNCTIONAL PRODUCTS > FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION

Spent biomasses of various strains of yeasts and fungi, used to resolve certain pathologies in production livestock, are a major natural resource for zootechnical breeding today.

All processes of fermentation may leave residues in the biomasses of small quantities of the extracted product and, above all, discreet quantities of similar products with superimposable activity, such as Lactoferrin and Lysozyme.

Lactoferrin and Lysozyme are two entirely natural, bioactive proteins, which act not only on both Gram + and Gram – populations, but also on certain viruses and protozoans.

The special composition of the biomasses (which form a lattice-gel of resistant starch during the drying stage) provides a form of “protection” from the gastric aggression of the residual active ingredients, making them available for the intestine.
